I figured the blog needed some color tonight, so here’s a shot of the hot air balloon festival in Foley, AL
We’ve got shots of balloons on the ground being inflated, the blowers going and even a few floating just above a lake. But this shot of a lone balloon up against a not terribly blue sky just jumps out at me. I think it’s the contrast of the colors in the balloon against a pretty monochrome sky. It’s a nearly cloudless sky (there is one small cloud just to the left of the balloon if you look close enough) but it’s an uncluttered shot with just the balloon hanging in mid-air.
The pilot pitching it over to the right just a little gives it a bit of motion too, and that never hurts.
